Kids for Kids One-on-One Tutoring
Organising members of MBBL have been paired with registrants to tutor specific repertoire and/or theory. In one-on-one settings, students refine their technique and musical interpretation. Pieces have included works by Strauss, Mozart, Beethoven, and popular composers.
Kids for Kids Summer and Winter Camps
MBBL has hosted two iterations of Kids for Kids camps: 2020 Winter, and 2021 Summer. Participants were immersed in topics that ranged from broad music history stories, to jazz theory and improvisation, to technique and rhythm training.
Charity Concerts
To offer its members and any aspiring musicians chances to perform, MBBL has co-hosted numerous charity concerts and recitals, all of which were live-streamed to better spread the club's mission of bringing music's joyous character to everyone.
Master Workshops
MBBL has invited numerous masters to host music workshops and offer insight into the lives of professional musicians to inspire the future generation. Professionals who have participated include Steinway Artist John Stetch.
Musical Festivals and Competitions
MBBL has organised two encouraging piano competitions for aspiring, young musicians. Professional teachers, including UBC Professor Corey Hamm, were invited to aid in adjudication. The most recent festival involved a Winners' Showcase at Tom Lee Music in Vancouver.
